What is G. hn?
G.hn stands for Gigabit Home Networking. The underlying technology uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) to push analog radio signals over wiring. It is wiring agnostic, and can use coax, inside power wiring, and all the different vintages of telephony copper wiring (Cat 1, Cat 3, flat wire, etc.).

The application of the technology is to extend higher speed services over copper wiring quickly and inexpensively. It is not always economical or quick to pull fiber to a client’s suite.

In Las Vegas, we have deployed the technology to cover all of the tenant locations at the Caesars Forum Shops. We are extending out from the last point of fiber, terminating at a RAD or Ciena device. We hand-off to the customer via a small modem in their suite (IPC 842T in next slide).
